  • Dama Table Lamp (produced by Lucirmás)
Dama is a table lamp designed by Tom Allen for Spanish eco-design company Lucirmás. Made from upcycled, recyclable and sustainably certified materials, the lamp was first previewed at the Salon Internazionale del Mobile in Milan 2012 at Superstudio Piú but has now been officially launched.

Inspired and made from beautiful, 5 litre glass vessels (commonly used for storing wine or oil in Italy), their charm gives that warm feeling you get observing an old, masterful Italian cook, craftfully preparing a delicious meal. Perfect as a table lamp for a variety of settings, users can easily remove the glass 'lampshade' with the original handle, which makes cleaning an easy process. The beech timber base is PEFC certified (http://www.pefc.org/) ensuring both the designer and producer's intention to practice sustainable design.

The lamp is entirely handmade in Barcelona with the highest attention to detail and craftmanship. Each lamp is personally numbered. Using a low energy Plumen 001 lightbulb (which has a lifetime of 8 years), Dama is sure to be the talking point in your home, restaurant or hotel.

  • Monsieur Lighting
Monsieur is a reading lamp, designed in collaboration with Christian Vivanco and Yago Rodriguez for Spanish lighting brand Almerich. After researching different users, we presented Monsieur, a reading lamp as a response to an emotional need. When you are reading, a strong link is created between you and the book. People love to get lost in the pages of a good book and Monsieur encourages this connection, creating a unique, intimate and personal atmosphere.

The result is a light and stable reading lamp, able to be placed in virtually any room of the house; it'll fit nicely beside your bed, next to the sofa or in the study. The addition of a small auxiliary surface, ideal for a book, a coffee mug or other small object completes the experience. The rotation system allows two movements covering more than 300 degrees each, being flexible and practical.

Monsieur's design responds directly to the use and function of a reading lamp, where with a single arm movement you can adjust its position and take the book to read. Monsieur is part of our collaboration with Almerich and was presented at Valencia Design Week 2010.

  • Mural Commission, Norwest Business Park, Sydney.
This is one of the largest murals in the southern hemisphere - 110m x 8.5m. Working alongside Australian artist Miles Allen (http://www.milesallen.com) seven designs were drafted to meet the client's brief of "Mondrian-like qualities... greens and greys". The final design chosen has fins, giving the coloured blocks a 3D effect by creating different shadows depending on the time of the day . Our client, Presida, a privately owned Sydney-based building company completed the building in March 2011. It was opened by the NSW Premier, Barry O'Farrell.

  • Moonwatch
Moonwatch was designed as a concept by The Emotion Lab to establish a relationship between the moon cycle and a person’s emotional states. It’s a new concept of time based on nature which invites people to reflect upon and gain a closer understanding of their mood and daily life on earth.

The moon has been a guide and object of admiration and mysticism during thousands of years. Agriculture, fertility, tidal patterns, human behaviour and many other activities have been linked to the different moon phases.

With Moonwatch, a person is always able to determine exactly what phase the moon is in. Clouds, pollution or a general ignorance to the moon cycle are no longer an issue. With time and observation, a person can find patterns which sync their behaviour or happenings to the different phases.

The Moonwatch also indicates the time with a user being able to switch between the two interfaces with a push of the button. During the day, the time is indicated with a black background and during the night the interface changes to white in order to improve visability.

A small solar cell helps to charge the watch; another analogy which highlights the relationship between sun and moon.

The watch’s simplicity and improvements with the interaction between watch and user complete the design, which fuses nature and technology to generate new emotions within the user.
